It was a privilege for the CIArb Abuja Chapter to host a distinguished delegation from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Headquarters, London, led by Helen Waters, Director of Corporate Services, alongside Jonathan Moles, Director of Governance and Professional Standards, and Michelle Chioma Okwudiafor, Legal and Compliance Specialist.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for meaningful engagement between the Institute's leadership and our members, reinforcing the importance of professional excellence, member engagement, and the continued advancement of arbitration and alternative dispute resolution practice.
The discussions were insightful and inspiring, offering members the opportunity to learn more about the Institute's strategic direction, governance framework, professional standards, and commitment to delivering value to members across the globe.
We were particularly delighted by the strong turnout and active participation of our members, whose contributions reflected the vibrancy, professionalism, and growing influence of the Abuja Chapter within the ADR community.
The visit also afforded us the opportunity to showcase some of the Chapter's recent milestones, including our professional development initiatives, mentorship activities, the successful hosting of our Symposium on "ADR in Practice: Driving Speed, Innovation, and Commercial Certainty in Nigeria," the launch of our Chapter Website, and the publication of our Membership Directory.
We thank Helen, Jonathan, and Michelle for taking the time to visit Abuja and engage with our members. Their presence and insights were greatly appreciated and will undoubtedly contribute to the continued growth and development of ADR practice within our community.
The future of dispute resolution is built on collaboration, professionalism, and continuous learning, and engagements such as this strengthen the bonds that connect CIArb members across jurisdictions.
